Birthdays!!!

Happy Birthday!!!

Two weekends in a row of birthday celebrations! Tonight we celebrated William's birthday - which was actually over a month late! We dined at the Piedmont Club then back home for cake...

Last weekend we celebrated Mom's birthday! We had dinner at El Maguey where they donned her with the huge sombrero and the biggest crowd sang her the loudest, longest birthday song ever! Sopapillas there then more cake at home...

Cabin Fever

This is day two of being snowed in...We made an attempt to get out today but were unsuccessful... We walked up to Hwy 65 this morning and drove up this afternoon but that is as far we went! It is a mess up out here as it probably is everywhere right now. We decided to turn around and "play it safe" but that option doesn't exist in the morning when it is back to work!!! Hopefully our next vehicle will be 4WD!

Deck the halls...................

Decorations are under way....last evening we had Kel's family over for Thanksgiving and what a feast it was. We've been decorating since this past weekend and are about two third's of the way there. Kel has her doll tree to decorate in the office and some kitchen stuff to get out. Hopefully, we'll have it all in place this weekend! Here are some of the pics thus far.............

UPDATE - Kel finished the "doll" tree and the pic is below........I think we're all set now!!!

We've got a busy week ahead of us - RCC Foundation holiday social, Old Town Baptist Christmas Program, Townhouse holiday social and lastly, the Piedmont Club holiday party!!!

Riding around

Kelley had a bridal shower to attend Sunday afternoon. The pup and I decided we would go for a ride. I think we were gone for a little over an hour. We headed down 65 and took 66 over to 268 and then came back down 52 from Pinnacle.

Here are some pics of Princey..................

doing what pups do best when riding...........

My parent's also were out and about in West Virginia. Below is a picture of the New River Gorge Bridge which is on U. S. Route 19, just north of Fayetteville, WV.

More Rednecks!

I can't let the pictures of my fabulous redneck friends go unseen! Too bad we didn't snap more than we did because everyone had their own redneck fashion statement. Ashleigh and her husband Dusty looked very natural with their redneck outfits, but if there had been an award for the person that looked like a true redneck, I think it would have been Kev!!! The Demolition Derby t-shirt and red bandana really did it. And the 24oz can of PBR that our neighbors gave him was the icing on the cake.

Ashleigh
The party was her idea. Look closely - Her shirt says "Big Sexy."
I assume that is the wrestler's neckname!

Tracy
Check out her "Dirty South" shirt and straw glasses.
More "rednecks" are coming up the hill in the background.

Pictures

We finally found some pictures for the dining room wall and the great room. The dining room picture came from Kirkland's in Winston and the one in the great room came from Kirkland's in Greensboro.

In taking these pictures, I discovered that our camera will not let us zoom out once we have zoomed in!!! Of course it is no longer under warranty and will cost around $90 for us to send it back to Kodak for them to repair it. We can upgrade and receive 25% off the purchase.
